A spot for keeping track of especially cool (informative, fun) videos, photos, scans and other links about record cutting. (You can post them in other sections. Eventually they may end up here.) NOTE: Please put *Circuits, Schematics and Manuals* in the section with that name.
I just created a gallery of pictures on my web site. Check it out. Lots of pictures of my lathe (old and new setup). As well as cuts I've done over the past two years. And, of course other various things.
Those are two usb webcams. $9 a piece. On a $5 usb hub. Connected with a long usb cable to my computer which is my audio source. They are cable tied to bent pieces of coat hanger that are attached to bolts on the rack.
On the computer screen i can see my DAW (ProTools). I can also see the feeds from the two webcams in a vertical strip that stays on the right of the screen. It is an desktop application I wrote. End result is I can see the meters on the rack on my conputer screen which is handy when making adjustments in my DAW. The configuration of my room doesn't allow for me to place my desk, moniter and computer next to the rack. So, that was my solution.
I'm working on a mount to put a third webcam on my scope and have a dedicated monitor for it much like a vms80.

haha. nice solution.
just feed the video streams to a processing patch and you have a "video coupled" high frequency limiter... instead of vactrol controlled limiters you can make a video-bsb74 cell....
some ducktape.
processing and puredata makes the 2012 superlimiter.
no.no
i really like the cam installation.
i just think further what people doing these days with processing &PD.
and i like unconventional solutions...
and sure there is some smile...super high tech cams just to see whats going on....
i think it is crazy that such a cam costs 10-20 times less than the damn analog meter...
