A spot for keeping track of especially cool (informative, fun) videos, photos, scans and other links about record cutting. (You can post them in other sections. Eventually they may end up here.) NOTE: Please put *Circuits, Schematics and Manuals* in the section with that name.
yooo andybee..
thanks a lot for the hint...
nice documentation.
just a little frightening. all these 20'000 plus super dupper rarest record collectors listening with a damn ortofon concorde.what a shame.
during the whole movie. almost only that shit. that hurts....haha.
exception. the karminsky experience... some of my heros... they know the good stuff...
can you please tell me more about the problems with the Ortofon Concorde? I've seen several of your posts about this subject.
As a long-time Ortofon user, I'm worried....... I mean I don't have any crazy rare records, but still, the possibility of damaging my records is discomforting.
What cartridges would you recommend for normal playback, and which ones for DJing?
Do you have seperate setups for DJing VS normal playback?
Hi Sub!
I am down with flo, concerning the ortofon concorde nightclub...
this needle is very hard mounted, and yes, it destroys records!
I have seen some fresh, warm records out of the press, they
look very shiny, after playback with nightclub, not shiny any more,
maybe not a big problem, but the sound is also not good.
you can see it also at the output voltage, low voltage is mostly
a hard sitting playback needle...
Ortofon build also good needles, for example the yellow nightclub
is not that bad, but the original silver nightclub: NO!
that is really a shame. I have found that a lot of listeners really use concords night club. But why???? They are not like dj's or smth... but they use it... maybe they get it when they buy technivs 1210 or similar model.
What I remember that testes was done with concorde on laquers. With normal hifi cartridge listening for 100 times was the end for laquer and with concorde 20 times or so.... I think that says everything...
