I'd like one, Tasos. Can you accept PayPal or do you have another suggestion for money transfer?

My data (as for now) :

Lathe System : Rek O Kut Master Pro (V & B-5)
Disk Size: 7" , 10" , 12" Transparent & Black (MyShank)
Speed: 33rpm
LPI : 270
Cutterhead Impedance: 4ohm
Embossing Angle: 86°
Groove Width: 2.3mil
Lubricant: Zippo
Lifetime: ..more than 13 hours
Final Conclusion: Overall Sound is more clean (less distorted), Lower Frequencies are deeper , Mid Frequencies are cleaner , High Frequencies are more extended (i could emboss tones of 16kHz!) .
I have tried Angles from 90° to 85° on my system but 86° is more my taste. While 90° gives a more "sharper" sound is more sensitive to uneven disk surface. Also the background noise is abit higher. When laid back to 85° sound becomes more smooth , better HF extension and lower background noise floor (equal or better than pressed records!).
Noise floor depends also on the good preparation of the disk. I always soak a big piece of cotton with Zippo fluid and start cleaning from inside out the disk. Same procedure for every single side! Be careful of the fumes ! Lifetime i did tried was more than 13 hours. There was no noticable distortion on the sound, only an slightly increase of background noise on the inner side of the groove.

Looking forward to hear back your results!

Incredible results, Epos! I was curious, are you embossing with these at around 150g like most suggested with the cone styli or are these at a much lighter weight? Thanks!

I've been asked recently about the same thing! Truth is that i haven't check the weight still . I use a digital microscope for setting up the groove's width . I do believe that a microscope is way more useful than a weight scale.

I was just checking and the embossing weight/pressure for a groove of ~2.5mil is as follow:
- On the platter is about 24gr ,
- On the 1.5mm disk is 39gr

Hope that helps!

Few months ago i bought a stylus from Tasos . I used it on a 3d printed cutterhead designed by me inspired from Sourri's head . The sound is way better than the one i obtained with simple tungsten needles . I obtained on polycarbonate around 5-6 grooves / mm , 45 rpm , at a backward tilted angle of about 85' , silicone oil , room temperature about 22-23' C , disc size both 7'' and 10'' . The track from the video is recorded with the printed head ( where i had to add , beside the IRIAA eq , some other corrections to eliminate some resonances ) but the frequency response diagram is made from another recording , made with the same cuttherhead design but built from aluminium , added only IRIAA corrections and some minor analog eq adjustments . After 3 hours of recording i didn't noticed any increase of background noise . Meanwhile i ordered 2 more styli :) . The communication was and is perfect , so , from my point of view , Tasos is an A+ builder and seller :) .

Embossing on Sondisko Lathe with Original Cutterhead

15 degree lean back
46 grams on a 1.5mm disk
Small boost in the 5khz - 12khz (at the moment im just a/b the cut vs original track)
love them!!! silent grooves are so quiet i can hear me manually winding the lead in and lead out in the cut
