Disc recorders for sale

I have two older style home disc recorders for sale. These use the General Industries type turntable deck with cutter arm and reproducer.

First one is a Montgomery Ward radio/PA/phono/recorder with a good vintage reluctance-type Shure microphone (screw adapter built in to microphone fits a standard mic stand), good pickup with new element and needle, good cutter (Astatic X-26), and good idler wheels. Turntable runs at 33 and 78. Unit has been serviced electronically and all functions work. The door on the side where the mic is stored has been replaced - don't know what happened to the old one as it wasn't there when I got the unit. Case is in good shape inside and out, with the exception of the mic compartment door. All NOS tubes, tested good, has good pickup stylus, includes 4 unused steel cutting needles and 5 seven-inch lacquer discs. Function switch works but the 'detent' mechanism doesn't stop it at any given point. All functions work if you point the dot on the knob at what you want to do. Recording/playback work well. $125 plus shipping. Can e-mail photos if interested.

Second is a Bell Record-O-Phone model RC-47-A that runs 33 and 78. This unit is a recorder only without a radio tuner, and is more for making original recordings and not cutting radio broadcasts. There are inputs for external sources and a mic input. Can be used as a PA, phonograph, and recorder. New Radio Shack high impedance mic included. The pickup is good and the cutter is magnetic and works fine. Unit has been serviced electronically. Included are 4 unused steel cutting needles and 3 ten-inch lacquer discs. Case is in excellent shape for it's age - no tears or marks and the speaker grill cloth and rear tube vent are perfect. Good sound and clean unit. $125 plus shipping. Can e-mail photos if interested.

Any questions - just ask.
