maybe you're right, Russian rather impulsive .
and do not like to be told twice .
but apparently the case is severe and will have to repeat the third time.

Who else thinks that prolonged vibration in contact with the soft material of the capsule is beneficial ?
"water wears away the stone"

I'm not saying that this was a problem, but it is wrong and it can become.
and it can means spending money , time and nerves .

just call the manufacturer and ask him to do something with it.
it's simple.

I can't spend hundreds of dollars on your experiments , but heartily wish you success !

PS Here is no topic about vinylike's, as I also already can say something negative to them
Best !

I wouldn't mind that Rek O Kut but not at that price.... The last lathe I put an offer in for went for way more than it was worth and it was battered.
Wish there were as many people over here in the UK selling semi pro lathes.

That's crazy. Not only is priced at triple what it's worth, but only people who want to go to Florida to pick it up can bid on it.

Prices have been insane recently. What about the dude selling a 6n PLATTER (no overhead or case) for $1000? Nuts.

::EDIT: either they added shipping after I posted this, or I somehow missed that they were offering shipping.

It's not priced triple what its worth, it's ready to go, amp, head, lathe, the whole bundle. There are really only so many of these out there. once they go to a home, they're usually there for good. 1 - supply and demand, 2 - tons of hipsters want their own 'record label' (that includes everyone here ! :D ! ), 3 - If it ain't worth it, dig deeper, go to your own supplier, wait it out, or just don't buy it

But it's not ready to go, it's untested. Likely the amp needs recapped, maybe the head needs rebuilt, the turntable rubber wheels may need to be replaced, etc. $2900 for a tested and working unit I can see.

If someone has $2900 to spend and is thinking of bidding, you could get an equivalent working unit by buying and getting rebuilt a presto head ($500), buying a rek-o-kut overhead arm ($300), an inexpensive amp ($200), and something like an old rek-o-kut rondine l34 turntable ($300.) If you really want to go $2900 you could substitute a stereo head from Flo or a technics sp-10 mk ii turntable, which would make for a much nicer set-up.

I think I see why he is starting it at $2900. This other ROK, which was a better model, had a MUCH better head, and was fully functional, sold for $3000. http://www.ebay.com/itm/REK-O-KUT-TR43H-RECORD-LATHE-VINY-CUTTER-/161206918997?pt=Vintage_Electronics_R2&hash=item2588ae5f55
