Stumbled across this.... so-called "PhonoPoint diamond dressing tools".

Sounds like maybe a leftover brand name from back in the vinyl heyday - I suppose so-called "PhonoPoint" tools were used to form the precision-radius rounded tip of the conical playback stylii... interesting

This is just another issue that had me wondering as well No there is nothing to do with records or vinyl whatsoever
The name was adopted asthese things are similar to a phono point come stylus
I wrote to a few manufacturers wondering if they could be used for cutting alas drew a blank on that one Just a name they said The samples I bought regrdless are almost uselles for cutting as when you try to get them to shape the solder that holds the diamond bit on the shaft dissapears and good bye Phono point
Yep I got sucked in as well
