as a test i ran an audio file through audacity. audacity allows you to change the speed of the audio file with instant clicks at 33, 45, and 78 rpm. i increased the speed of the audio file to 78 rpm, recorded it at 78 then played it back at 33. excellent results with a virtually noiseless groove. this was the first test but it works quite well...

Re: INTERESTING EXPERIMENT / 78 RPM TO 33 RPM
Hi,
That seems backwards from what is normally done. If you take a file with a 20Khz bandwidth and play that file back at 78 the 2.3X speed change will shift the top frequencies to 46Khz. The cutter head can only cut to 10-15 Khz before rolling off, so your bandwidth will be limited to 4 -6Khz once you playback at 33. If you don't mind the lower fidelity, the good news is the cut goes much faster.
