Who can help me with my VR T560 cutterhead?

have you thought about using exciters? i got some from parts express and made a head and got decent results form embossing im not sure how they would fair for cutting.

Hey Ruben, Super huge thanks for these posts and sharing a research you made.
We have the same problem with the cutterhead. Burned one channel and don't want to have busyness with Souri. Most asked people don't want to get involved of fixing it. So probably we will follow your way, and Im really curious how it went to you? Did aluminium helped? how about epoxy? and is the silicon ring is necessary?

I coneccted first de Amp 380x 380, and after the power supply, AND CLIC " POP " BOOOM, The left tweeter was broken.
OK 2 days after, whit 4 hours sleep whit my eyes reds for too much computer, i told yoou some think,
1 First use fuse 1A o Whit minus A.
2 NEVER more make on the amp first.
3 read all forum , al post, investigue all.
4 make broken the conical form from tweeter.
5 Put one meter in your hand and enjoy.
6 Buy, 2 diferents models Pro-Tech 200W 2/419 buyed, Rockville RT6 240 W buyed.160 euros in total. and stay in relax for many days. but all 25mm
7 Whit a lot nervius searching for 36 hours, no sleep, only cafe and find the "original tweeter" (NX30 - Image Dynamics 30MM)
8 Sleep, 4 hours. whit nightmares about the machine.
9 You can write your history, and put in the forum.
10 ...... Next week more steps.

How thick are the wires that come out of the cones and connect to the stylus holder? Can you tell what type of material it is?

not sure about the material but these are tubes, not wire. for light weigh.

Litterally none of those tweeters are suitable and are far from original. They are all SILK DOME, you require Titanium dome.

No they are not silk dome! Plenty of photos on here of original tweeters to prove this plus I’ve seen them myself personally.

Maybe you’ve found silk dome that work ok but they are nothing like original.

Pretty sure the original tweeters that were used in the head are no longer in production, so who knows what drivers are being included for the new head builds. :shrugs:

Souri stock piled a ton of the original drivers and he still has some.

There’s no evidence of anyone ever dissecting an original Souri head with silk domes.

Hello everybody!

Is anybody here who successfully repaired the broken tweeters on T560 cutter head?

Got the issue with one channel. The multimeter reading suggests the tweeter has gone. Have to replace the tweeter and make it work.

A guy named ruben rubio was posting on fb groups that he made replacement drivers for the t560 cutterhead. I have no idea if it's true or what quality to expect. He got banned from the t560 users group because he spammed them a lot. So he was kind of problematic but his advices helped me solve an issue with my machine.
I would probably change for a new cutterhead from TKV instruments or LA Mastering
