death and burial of poor cock robin / custom edison cylinder

Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

this is a simple machine i built as a cylinder lathe, i have now made hundreds of recordings on this, we have a store on ebay, WIZARDOFMENLOPARK,
http://stores.ebay.com/wizardofmenlopark/

here is the machine, to keep vibration to a minimum i did not mount the motor to the base, it is siting on rubber snubbers and i am using a rubber belt from the motor to the drive pulley on the mandrel shaft. total cost to build this was less than $ 200...
here is an early test / proof of concept...

thanks very much for your help! I made a belt drive by the idea of Edison, perhaps the best way to damping. Thanks, very ,very nice sound! :)
