Small scale pressing?
Is it possible to press on a small scale without the need for the large industrial presses like the toolex's?
I'm very new to all this, but I'm eager to learn about it, but like the guy in the other thread, I'm more into the audio side of things right now, and definitely don't have the infrastructure to run an industrial plant, based on what I've read is involved on here, but if there is a smaller scale option it would be nice to investigate.
I'm sure I read about manual presses on here, does that require the same kind of infrastructure?
Any info or references would be much appreciated

Cheers Andy,
I wasn't really after prices of pressing, more info about whether it's possible to get any sort of pressing set up running without the need for the big industrial presses?
I've read on here and other places about the individual cuts to plastic, so I know about those, just wondering if there was an alternative for shorter runs - not for getting things pressed for me, but for pressing things myself for other people at some point.....
As I say I don't have the know how or inclination to run a big industrial plant, but I would like to press up short runs if there is an alternative to the big presses.
Cheers
Chris

as andybee stated you could have polycarbonate plastic discs cut for you in small runs or even as a one-off. each disc is individually cut. vinylium.ch or vinylrecorder.com.
as far as I know there is no such thing as a manual press. A record press is a large device that produces at least a ton of pressure.

SMALL SCALE PRESSING like this
The answer is yes.
You still need all the basics of a big place.
Make no mistake about it running one press is still a major move.
you want something like this correct?
my45.de 7inch pressing plant vinyl
tell him how it goes to do something like this ANDYBEE....

I think, the easiest way to press a record, is a manual press, o.k.
but you need also moulds, stamper, steam cooling water, a trimmer, extruder (maybe you can press into sheets)...
so a lot of equipment needed....
But maybe oneday, a better material can be used for pressing,
that don´t need so much pressure and heat to form and cool down...
any ideas?
