Perfect.
It would not be good if this stuff was sent to Asia.

I have been told by others sometimes high end cutting
equipment is bought and shipped over seas and is placed
in private homes and put on display as a showpiece. Somewhat like a piece of furniture.
The equipment is never put into production to cut master disks for record pressing.
We need to keep state of the art cutting equipment like the Mastering Lab's
out in the field to produce the best masters for record manufacturing.

I agree. I guess some of us were concerned when the amp appeared on ebay, but its good to see it been kept together.

Yes.
And this was the last request of the great mastering engineer Doug Sax.

On the subject of lathes going to Asia....
...yes they are bought by audiophiles to use as record players, particularly in Korea.
There were plenty of photos of these lathes on Gearlsutz some time ago. While the photos are no longer online, rest assured that some of the set-ups were way over the top for the purpose of playing records. The theory is that if the record was cut on a Neumann lathe, it should be played back on a Neumann lathe. There was not one cutting head in any of the photos.
We had a Korean gentleman in Sydney who bought up nine Neumann lathes in Australia. Eight of those went to Korea. These lathes will never cut a record again but they no doubt give their owners a lot of joy.
Back To The Mastering Lab...
This is a stroke of genius by Acoustic Sounds. Another perfect acquisition.

Here's a Neumann here in Japan in a private audiophile setup - used as a playback turntable!

And that's just the system in his bedroom. Imagine what the system in his lounge room looks like.
