use the cleaning fluid. souri said 'leave it overnight' or 'give a lot of heat', so a few times i've tried the 2nd option. put cleaning fluid on ear cleaning stick, put the diamond on top of it and give a lot of heat. it starts smoking but also plastic gets removed. don't leave it for long, i see the wire goes red, see some smoke and turn it low. did it a few times and the stylus was clean. this is what i did and i don't encourage you because i dont know how safe it is, so do at your own risk, dont blame me after that if you destroy something

Ethyl Acetate should do it, use a cotton bud. Try to avoid acetone as it can (in some cases) destroy the glue holding heating wires. A softer alternative is Isopropyl Alcohol but it depends on how the plastic is melted to the diamond.

I seem to remember Souri used acetone himself for removing plastic, during a two day workshop I did many years back. I guess you’ll get the hang of it once you’ve done it a few times, but I prefer the heating option- I heat it briefly then turn off the heat and remove the crap with a cotton q tip dipped in acetone. Put the q tip on the stylus not on the windings.
