Any small run pressing plants in the USA?

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Any small run pressing plants in the USA?

Seems like if you want to get small runs of records pressed your only options are really going with Eastern European countries through a broker... There's like a million brokers but they all go through the same three plants.. you can tell by the basic pricing structure and s*** even discmakers are brokering for these plants but just taking more for themselves..

If I want “Made in the USA” on my records is there an option if I need less than 5,000 copies?

And don't try to pitch me on lathe cuts, I got a guy...
generally its for reproduction.. but i like to play wif it sometimes.. :P

Plants like Musicol and Palomino have been pressing ultra small runs for decades. To suggest the smallest pressing run is 5,000 units seems a little odd.

Oz, I haven't had records pressed since the 90's.. I used 5,000 bc that's the maximum the overseas plants will handle.. figured if one was to want that many URP would take care of it

5,000 is not the maximum that overseas plants will handle. Please stop with the misinformation.

That's literally on discmakers website.. but going through a broker is stupid if you can get in to the line of one of those two places.. honestly would rather have home made "USA"

I used Vinyl RP in Jacksonville for 100 copies pressed. New Orleans Record Pressing does small runs too.
I think a lot of the newer plants, that I'm assuming run two Warmtones, or NewBuilts, etc, are into the smaller runs.

editing to say I love Musicol too, they were just previously mentioned

Hi Jay,
I'm Mary and I work for a pressing plant in Canada (near Montreal) and we offer short runs (100+).

For small runs, we offer shipping from the USA if that's preferable for some customers, since we're right across the border. So you can skip the customs fees. All goods are sold in Canadian currency, which is a plus for our American neighbors ;)

Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions! We'll be happy to discuss our services with you. (info -at-drummondviny-dot-com)
Here is our website if you're curious to have a look: drummondvinyl.com

But if I'm not mistaken, there is Softwax Records in Philadelphia, pretty close to where you are, that you could contact! That would be very local ;)
