http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7973950.stm It is worth it, wait for commercial to finish. I admire this plant. Not going to point everything out, just glossing over. 7" being made on 12" die, there is always a reason. Dehorning. The dies, load station, the carriage, hyd. on cast platen, tr...

Steam-

10hp per machine @ 125psi+, about 350˚F+.

More hp and higher pressure, will allow you to cycle faster.

Volume is a concern.

The condensate is corrosive.

Mikey hello, I have not seen CBS automation, it's new to me. Do you have any images? Yes, that is a very good point, all automatic presses release both sides upon opening. The record remaining on the stamper is a characteristic of manual pressing, hence the slow cycle. Have not seen the Hamilton sta...

TTT are actually the Hamilton design, licensed to be made in Germany. Except for the trimmer carriage, that was supplied by Hamilton to maintain control of the license.

These presses are unique, the gentlemen operating the place are the ones to hear from.

Mikey hello, Yeah, I stashed that gem in the Services Forum under Links. Delighted when I came across the video because had heard about a different type of machine a few years ago. Short story- I know nothing for sure, so don't quote me. My understanding is they predate SMT and are 100% french design.

Palomino hello, Lapping is the finishing step for the moulds. The lapping machine removes the imperfections on the face of the moulds. Not the stampers, they are an entirely different story, their backs gets sanded. Couple different style machines for that, manual and automatic. Sometimes, the face ...

Palomino hello, Hello to Mikey, CD4 and CC. Don't quote me on this- I suspect that lots of lathes need a little help getting started spinning. Electroplating, only in theory is it easy. Bravo to you! 7" has many positive characteristics. Are you pressing 12" now? I had seen a list for a plant for sa...

Hello, Mikey yes, having the knife definitely spurred me, thank you. It was an important project, that kept getting sidetracked, alas money. To make a mini press from scratch with a power unit was a bit pricey. Not so much the press, as the power unit. Also, I got the feeling, the machinists did not...

Hello, Have been under the rock, sorry about the lag. Mikey, we are about to die cut our third round of labels, joy! Not using the one you gave me, it needs to be machined to fit in press, hesitant to do that. CC, yes, for us the weight effects time on a curve. The heavier, the higher up the curve a...

Hello all! I am tickled by the company, there are almost enough people to start an association. Why SMT is superior, simple they are grey and orange. Therefore, grease on the posts is slightly less unsightly and that makes them more pleasant to be around. Sometimes I wonder what the ideal machine wo...
