I had the guy on ebay who makes embossing needles to make them longer,1 7/8". It got me close to the angle,worked pretty good

Yes Fahrenheit ,I heat my platter for 5 minutes and then put the disc on the platter and heat it.i start cutting at 100 degrees...

Buy that guys stylus's ,they work really good.i use the cones for embossing on my presto 8k and am getting great results!
