Re: VR: voltage to LPI info needed

Hi Bo! Hope you're doing good :-) I have a Volts/LPI table for the Vinylrecorder somewhere, but I personally would recommend specific measurements on your unit - still I'll send to you for reference. I also would recommend NOT to use a microscope - unless you have a very dedicated precise device the...

Re: Properly setting Diamond in Caruso cutterhead

Hey M.
Good to hear that you're back at it :-)

I agree with all above said.
One thing I do sometimes - If I'm unsure if the stylus hole is dirty or so, I take a wooden toothpick, put it inside and gently turn it. This can help to clean it and get the stylus seated firmly afterwards.

Cheers

Then there also this other machine I think ws used in Australia, I don't know why I have BBC in mind but who knows... Chris, can you share some pictures of that Sudgen stereo head with some...

Hi!

A lot of pro cutters use such a device.
In case you need help (or a built unit) feel free to pm.
BTW - is stock VMS pitch computer or upgraded?

Re: Neumann cutterhead mount on Caruso

But now there is a large gap between the screws on the mount and the bracket on back of cutterhead. I guess there's not really a difference between small gap and large gap, because in the end it is always just the grub screws pressing against the bar for clamping action. So unless you have ...

Re: laptop to gotham ohm transformer Question

Hi Al! I don't have a Gotham rig, but I would do a few things: - DON'T use the headphone out, it is just bad. Any of the modern 2ch usb interfaces for 100$ or less will give you satisfying results. The Gotham deserves nice sound! - From what I see, the 600 Ohms Input should be fine. So you could wir...

Re: VR T560 Main Unit Mods

Hi PMST! Hmm, from what I know the VR pitch motor is simply driven by a LM317 voltage regulator without any servo control as found on professional machines. So if the motors match close enough, and the mechanics don't load them heavily probably the best indicator would be to measure the voltage acro...

Re: 305° Heissdampföl replacement

Dear Helmut! Normally you should be able to recycle the oil in the coupler as it is not really lubricating and doing nothing special. It is rather used as a rough lowpassfilter/damper for filtering out the noise from the lyrec motor... Unfortunately I also lost the can with the sticky stuff from my ...

Re: Technics SP-02 dokuments scans

what a motor, has 28kg torque! Yes, it is a dedicated motor for the purpose! But from my findings in the field torque is not everything (imo 3 kgcm is already enough for lacquer and maybe plastic cutting, but my measurements continue...). The challange is to make it nice, smooth and controlled (and...
