well, thanks for clearing up my post... about those short timers: theres one paper i have about a very early design (published 1954) which says 0,1 sec preview. very interesting full analog design with tape loop storage and memory up to 10 revolutions! Don't ask me if those numbers are right, or if ...

Hey! I had a qick look at your website - do you use souris auto-pitch or anything else? As it has been already said: There are a lot of auto-pitch systems and most of them have their own way of accomplishing "correct" spacing A simple system may only rectify a signal and do some low pass filtering o...

Hmm, as i said your motor will probably do about 1000 rpm, you need ~50rpm on the lead screw pulley -> you need a gear! gearwheels, toothbelts etc. make noise + must be precise machined so an easier solution would be mine where the little motor shaft is driving a bigger disc on its edge (making a ge...

Oh, and not to forget the little collet that has to be sled over the armature to hold the stylus...

Dear Mr Coreshankø,

I only have something like 2-3 rubber diaphragms for the mono ortofons,
and they are only ~1/2 inch diameter. I guess the Stereos have a larger gem-cap...sorry

But I think you could easily make them yourself...

I've once done this to a Presto-8D Back then I used a little precision-DC-Motor (low noise) and some tooth belts to get the rpm in the needed range... If I had to this again I would still take the same little DC-Motor, but I wouldn't use the tooth belts again (too much bearings that need exact manuf...

Anyway, thought you all might like a peek at the soft underbelly of the Fonofilm Industri stereo cutting head... Nice collection! I don't have a ortofon-stereo, but one of my monos came with some replacement rubber diaphragms and a little tool to make a hole in them... (either for population growth...

Nice Score! Yes, this Philips Deck is quite rare, I only know 4 (yours, the 2 from that collector and one in a museum in my town...) I can have a look if they have the manuals there... Have you tried to contact that collector? Maybe he has something... It should be possible to make it stereo (stereo...

T+- are the connections for the dc-tacho (servo)

btw, this is not a pitch controller/computer that controlls the groove distance
according to its modulation. it is controlling the speed of a (feed/platter)
motor for constant speed (adjustable by the pots)...

what lathe do you have?

It's the same lathe from the same seller. I guess there were some crazy about but had no money...

Sorry, I don't have one either... But (in theory!) for a quick test it should be ok to use a torch (or any other spotlight = parallel light beams), your eyes and maybe a ruler. This won't give you 100% accurate measurement down to 0.5dB, but it will give you a good direction... so if your nominal le...

To test with a phono cartridge you would first have to characterize the frequency response of the cartridge...
afaik there is only a loss in the highs. to check that frequency range properly you should use light beam measurements...
maybe i find something...

Two lower the value for the sensing R to get more current sounds like it could do the job. BUT (maybe other solution) In the vinylium docs they solder a 150k in parallel to R209 (330k) (standard sl1200). This will affect the phase regulation circuit... I don't have a SL1200 and I only had a very sho...

well, i was thinking about external transformers. you don't have to disassemble the machine nor make any modifications. just use a transformer (per channel) with your cinch connection on one side, and xlr (or whatever balanced system you need) on the other. 1:1 ratio cheap ones for 10€ (may sound ni...

use a 1:1 transformer = "übertrager"

simple, adds to sound + true balanced

ps.: m15 are cheaper than m10 (i guess)
price 0-1000$
