Re: Need help for Pressing Machine Building.
If Newbilt doesn't reply to your mails maybe that means you need to look at other manufacturers, e.g. Viryl or Pheenix. Viryl has a full consultancy service where they will basically design your whole plant for you, in the meantime at least they will give you all this info you need and more about co...

FS: Complete Finebilt Record Press Setup
We have a very nice Finebilt for sale currently based in Taiwan. Currently set up for 220V 60hz but motors can easily be swapped out. 1950s Finebilt 150 ton press, fully refurbished with new hydraulic pump and tank with oil chiller. 1950s Aragon vertical extruder, barrel completely stripped cleaned ...

Re: Viryl warmtone steamless real world power consumption
Why not just ask Viryl? It would have to be well over 100kW to get any kind of useful output. The cycle times I have seen on these systems are incredibly slow, I think you would be better off with a standalone electric steam boiler.

Re: Looking for: Record hole punch 7” big hole
Where are you based? We make an electric flywheel press that will fit dies for a standard large hole or UK style dinked center but shipping will cost more than the machine. If you are in the US why not ask RPA, they have tabletop manual and electric models.

Re: Manufacturing Issues
There is an annoying high frequency whine all through the recording but I don't know if that's your recording equipment. Those are really small pops, honestly unless you are paying top dollar for an audiophile pressing I don't think it's reasonable to make a big deal out of that. Just my 2c. I'm gue...

Re: Manufacturing Issues
By any chance is this an ambient / drone recording? Are we talking massive pops or tiny clicks or somewhere in between? Is it DMM or lacquer cutting? If you are paying top dollar to press at a top shelf manufacturer like Optimal or Toyo Kasei then it's probably reasonable to expect perfection or som...

Re: New auto pressing machines comparison
I don't like to be negative, but I saw a 3 second clip at the end of that video of a terrible sounding off center record. Sometimes the "cool factor" of a project means realistic concerns get brushed aside. In my part of the world using steam is not a negative, natural gas is cheap and more environm...

Hi Andy
What kind of price are you looking for? If you don't want to make it public you can send me a PM.
Cheers

I'm not sure if you are interested in these as a curiosity or to do actual quality control. Software is a better way to do quality control these days, you can record at high speed and there is commercially available click/pop detection software.

Re: Record Pressing Plant Start up Costs
With 3 presses I would look again, and look hard at your costings for "steamless" vs a gas boiler or even a regular electric steam boiler. I operate Viryl presses in a country that has similar prices for electricity, maybe even a little cheaper. There is no way the math works in favor of a "steamles...

Re: 7" Record with Push-Out Centre
We made our own punch press for large hole 7", we have this style of die available to swap out but for some reason we almost never use it. I have to admit I'm somewhat baffled by the choice to punch large holes in 2019 when nobody is playing these records on a jukebox.. but what the public wants the...

Are you maybe talking about playing the mothers?
Pressing from the same pair of stampers you could certainly get differences in surface noise and pressing artifacts, but not a difference in volume or EQ.

Re: Presses
That is a generic hydraulic column press and in my opinion it's not suitable for vinyl pressing at all, let alone all the important associated parts that are missing. Also great that it has zero safety features whatsoever. If you are able to turn this into a working press your time would be better s...

Re: updated list of vinyl record pressing plants
There is a lot more info in Chinese, JZ Disc is an optical disc manufacturer branching out into vinyl fairly recently (like most other Chinese vinyl manufacturers). I'm not 100% sure but I think China Record Group is pressing with JZ, I have seen some references to CRP's Chinese language LPs on JZ's...

Re: updated list of vinyl record pressing plants
Nope, I think you are probably talking about a company called Junzheng Disc Co. in Qingdao. They have some kind of weird Newbilt Toolex clone (?) and a VMS80.

As far as I am aware Yongtong and Primedisc are the same company and chinaetech.com does not do any vinyl pressing.

Re: Heat Exchange On Record Presses
Isn't the steamless press basically just an electric steam generator? From the pictures I have seen there are pipes going from the regular steam inlet/outlet into a large box that I presume is basically an off the shelf electric boiler.
