I have found a dc brushless motor at 50W and controler electronics to replace the original motor and idler wheels. Am going to mount in the same place as original to keep the apperence same. It looked a nice piece of Retro kit I love thins like that. I have Presto 8N with grampian head myself. Im just geting it set up properly have a friend designing me a cutting amp with all mod cons current meters RIAA overload trip ect.

Hope you get some joy with 87A..

You cannot have clear laqures because they are a allimunum disc coated in celliose laqure apollo may do in vinly likes but unsure ring them they may help. sorry about crap spelling!!!!!!!!!

Grampian is short shank but can use long shank for high level recording but reduces frequency responce. presto uses long shank type. Hello Apollo or transco sell blanks. Apollo also sell vinyl like blanks. both place sell styli but dont know which ones you use I use 362 transco..

Have changed motor drive wheel +20% diameter to correct speed just trying to sorce a 1200 or 1210 for mod. :shock:

I have see that the mod gives 3.0Kg/cm of torque insted of 1.7. Have you ever done the mod ??what people clame and whats real can be totaly diffrent thanks for the info...

Does any one know how to mod SL1210 for high torque??

I have serched everywhere and cannot find the mod I can only find a place in america who can do it But the shipping from england to there and back is more than a brand new motor for me presto 8N. Does any one know how to mod the SL1210 drive circuit befor I blow it up??
