Re: LATHE FOR CUTTING MASTERS?
hello Jonas well there is definitely a solution. so far there where still enough neumanns or scullys around to upgrade. and scullys where damn cheap if not fully working. the low end starts at around 15k euro. but leaves every scully behind ( except the look of course. cant beat that scully look). a...

Re: Neumann /Flokason AM44/ Pitch13/ Magnetovolt Electronics
here a few recent pictures of what a standard AM44 looks like at the moment. after 2 pre series machine most parts are defined and there is a highend and a semipro machine. starting from around 15k to whatever you want...... vacuum platter will be 14" in future except you really want a 16inch. linea...

Re: Project "Groove Scribe"- A DYI stereo 45/45 head.
i am willing to sell a (limited quantity ) set of original neumann sx74/SC99 torque tube with v-spring to experimenters. so all angles are ok and the stylus bore is right to specs. this is the real part used in any SX68,74, SC99 and the last series of CARUSO heads. made in switzerland on state of th...

Re: Project "Groove Scribe"- A DYI stereo 45/45 head.

i try to stop post here. and i try to make it as a one shot. just because its always refered to "ask flo.." or because caruso comes into the talk. i dont want to be part of this discussion. so please leave me out in future. good things seem to come from west coast and we can not cope with that. when i read this , it does not make sense to come over. i guess your diy head experiments wont match the neumann specs anymore.... and to bring it back. i can do it only at my place. also the cards need some more updates. which was not possible on site. so. send someone (the former cutting eng.) wit...

well everytime the same story when posting stuff here. the genious get pissed. i just wanted to correct wrong information from the "experts" that there was no EW-74. and to give an answer why probably this box is not the most wanted item on earth. i am happy with my simple box. it does the job and i...

Re: Deep Grooves Mastering EW-74 Cutterhead Equivalent
I will scan whenever i find it. no time right now. but schematics is similar or even almost identical. if you want more power just make the load resistor bigger 10W/20W whatever. a quick power calclulation for the given values makes even clear before testing that a 2-3W resistor wont be usable for l...

Re: Deep Grooves Mastering EW-74 Cutterhead Equivalent
Neumann never made one for the 70's version of their amp rack. Well there is EW-74. Schematics is even in the SAL documentation.... http://www.floka.com/pics/EW74.jpg and some might have built one long time ago... there was one with every kingston dubplatecutter sold and schematics is open source s...

Re: Bryan's Caruso Massimo Build
well i made the board the simplest and cheapest possibe. so small pcb area. short signal path. easy to assemble. a drill press and one panel and you can mount. that was the idea behind. but of course you can put potis connectors wherever you want. just make sure cables are not too long and use a nic...

Re: Caruso pre amp setup
it depends on your workflow. most mastering room use some kind of EQ unless you do just 1:1 transfer. but even then there is eqs in the signal path. at the moment you need to do some sort of eq'ing for Caruso if you want to go flat response. . later on i will build that correction eq into the preamp...

Re: Caruso pre C316 question
just use regular mkp , mkt type RM5
or whatever you have. foil type is always best.
and i think 820pF is quite heavy...maybe good to start but later on go lower... 680pF or 470pF
