Hello,
Noise also comes when the stylus is too sharp, tearing the bottom of the groove.
You can dull out the point by letting it emboss for a while, (5-15 minutes). To avoid spoiling many blanks, I usually do it in a locked groove.

All stylii I used were that measure.

Is 1-C, but i think 1-D is the same

Note- TB6600 is for steppers so you have to connect just two of the four outputs, the motor only have one winding.

I tryed, but not for long enough, managed to get a continuous swarf, but way too noisy.
Nothing like a diamond, for that.
