“Torsion” tube I think it all may be too solid? Should i try to rebuild the boomerang part out of a coke can?

I’m back up and running however playback sound was super quiet and I could not get it to increase so I have taken my cutter head apart to remove the 3m tape off the coin exciters - the “torsion” bar is really solid should it move freely before a glue to back to the coin exciters

i cant get much volume on playback so i am going to have another crack at building the cutter head

The control box - used the arduio board - and then coded through chatgbt! I was struggling but it has helped me program the board to create wider spaced lead in - rec at 6 grooves per mm - and then a push button so I can manually manage the lead out. Hey I am new to lathe’s - I have built a lathe over the past few months based on the David Nelson design - I can only say the information available on this has been brilliant and so helpful - and given me a fantastic starting point. I won’t post too many photos as they have been seen before

i am just starting out on my first build and parts are starting to come in!! Can anyone recommend a replacement for the Tectonic TEAX-19C01-8 which will fit the same - they seem to be out of stock everywhere?
