Circuit Breaker value for Presto 1D

I've read a few threads here about suggested fuse values for these heads, but I want to try and use a small circuit breaker with my Presto instead of a fuse. The part I'm questioning though has to do with these breakers not tripping once the level has been reached. Depending on the level they are su...

Re: Help with my first cutter - Meissner 9-1065

Welcome, and congrats on your cutter! I know the feeling of getting your first machine, it's super exciting. As a newbie who is still learning a lot about all of this, I'll give you my take on your questions: 1 ) Polycarbonate is the way to go. Turtle wax is one option, but rubbing the surface with ...

It's really disappointing to read the rude replies on this thread. I would also love to see more representation in a predominantly white male hobby/profession and I hope this forum can help be a catalyst for that change.

Welcome Byron!

Re: Frank Sinatra's Palm Springs lathe

Good point! They referenced a Rek O Kut lathe in the article, and I thought that perhaps the turntable in question was just missing it's overhead carriage. But you're right, it might just be a Rek O Kut transcription turntable, not sure.... Deke I think the turntable is a Rek-O-Kut 743 ( I may be o...

Re: FS: Rek-O-Kut LP-743 idler turntable

Yes, 12" turntable! I assume it would fit a 6N, I was using this with a Rek-O-Kut M5 (their overhead for 16" turntables), might have to slightly adjust where the hole goes though for a perfect fit. If you send me the measurement of the 6N overhead I can measure for you.

FS: Rek-O-Kut LP-743 idler turntable

For sale is my ROK 743 idler turntable. Runs great from what I can tell (never owned an idler drive before) and pretty close to 33/45/78 (can fine tune with a variac). Motor overhauled, cleaned and relubricated, ball bearing added for smoother operation. Comes with an extra idler wheel. Installed a ...

Re: Introduction and New Bogen Lathe

16" turntables are rare! I also just think that they are super super cool. I'd venture a guess that the cutting head is mono (almost all old heads on these types of machines are), but I'm just curious who made it. That's great that everything works - yeah, I'd be careful powering the amp up after al...

Re: Introduction and New Bogen Lathe

Welcome! And wow, that's a really cool looking lathe! I'd say that was a steal for a few hundred bucks. I did not know that Bogen made lathes, but interestingly enough they were owned by the Unitronics Corp who also owned Presto, a major manufacturer of "disc recording" equipment in the 30's through...

WTB: Rek-O-Kut model V removable top plate/idler cover

Hey gang - looking for this part that goes on a ROK V turntable. Anybody have one? I believe the G1 and G2 models used the same piece. Would also be open to a 3D-printed copy. Thanks!

Hello, I am desparately looking to find an MSS cutting head, or even the entire MSS lathe. Would you consider selling yours? Please let me know. RecordBooth@gmail.com
Look in the classified's & tip-off section, Chris King is selling an MSS lathe there.
