Re: Moving Magnet Cutting Head

I was checking just before and yes , it lools like the usual moving coil heads but he mention is a Moving Magnet one. I had the same thinking about the simplicity of the build and the easiness of recoiling the head in case it is smoked. That gives me a hope :-)

Moving Magnet Cutting Head

Hello there! It's been more than a year that a make of cutting head comes to my mind. All I see are mainly Moving Iron Mono cutterheads and Moving Coil (dynamic) Stereo cutterheads. I haven't noticed any Moving Magnet one (Stereo or Mono) and suppose this maybe didn't work ?? I had a basic idea of t...

Re: iRIAA preamplifier prototype

Looking good👍 I have some basic question 1. Presumably for mono you would require 1x iRIAA unit + 1 x PSU unit? 2. For Stereo 2 x iRIAA unit + 1 x PSU unit? 3. Have you got an Approx target Price? Personally I would be interested in a Mono set-up that could possibly be upgraded to stereo later Emid...

iRIAA preamplifier prototype

It's been a long time I was thinking of building one of these. I started with a single channel version as my lathe system is Monophonic. This Prototype features: - ALPS Input Volume Control - Accurate iRIAA eq - 40dB of total gain - Low Pass Filter for 12kHz & 16kHz - Fuse protection for the Cutterh...

Re: New Embossing Stylus!

Very good, Tasos. While you're at it, you also might consider eliminating the spaces in your email address at the bottom. I'm sure that most seasoned email users know that the @ is not separated fore and aft, but making that footer look more like the one in your icon would be good, I think. I know,...

Great work! Also from my side congrats! Only the length specification on the specification sheet with 1.8mm cannot be correct.
I always had the feeling that something was not right on the spec sheet, now that you told me I see what was and fixed it already :-)
Thanks

are you embossing with these at around 150g like most suggested with the cone styli
I was just checking and the embossing weight/pressure for a groove of ~2.5mil is as follow:
- On the platter is about 24gr ,
- On the 1.5mm disk is 39gr

Hope that helps!

I use a digital microscope for setting up the groove's width . I do believe that a microscope is way more useful than a...
