Pretty sure the original tweeters that were used in the head are no longer in production, so who knows what drivers are being included for the new head builds. :shrugs:

No worries. Mike will take care of you. Also, keep in mind it would be lighter fluid first and then heat up the blank.
Looking forward to watching your progress! Well done so far.

Re: DIY lathe , new to this , what am i doing wrong ? :)
Hey there, you should really try embossing with Mike (piaptk's) embossing sapphires. Get the blank warmed up, use some lighter fluid on it to clean the polycarbonate and then let it emboss. That was how I would do it on my old Presto with 1C head anyway. Got some quality cuts with good needle tracki...

Re: Any other cutter heads for T560?
MyShank has the Nightengale head like you mentioned. Looks fantastic. TKV Instruments also has built a nice head but I am not sure if there is an adaptor for the VR to attach it. (I'm bet something could be made) Sometimes it's just better to send it back to Souri for repair I guess. Sorry about you...

Re: Vestax VRX 2000
Everything I've heard about this machine is that it is trash. A T560 is waaaaaaaaaaay better. But that's just me. I also have a T560. I've never used the Veastax joint but heard nothing but bad reviews. I think one guy on the forum had a decent review but odds are this is not worth it. Unless you're...

Re: What's Your Lathe Acquisition Story?
My journey officially started a little over 3 years ago... Re-winding to 1994; So I've been spinning records/DJ'ing/collecting records since the mid-nineties. I've always wanted to be able to cut my own vinyl. Fast forward to 2017 or so. I'm still thinking it's "pressing" but decide to explore the w...

Re: SP10 Tone Arm Fitting...
I'm getting a plinth made which should be ready soon, with dimensions to fit a Rega RB300. This is the one but with an added hole for the arm https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Plinth-for-Technics-SP10-Ebony/111850573554?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item1a0ad04ef2:g:WdgAAOSwczhbWxLd&amdata=enc%3AAQAFAAACcBaobrj...

Re: Vinyl Recorder T560 Overhead Motor
Wanted to revisit and see if everything worked out for you in the end? Still waiting on parts to be made. Pandemic has turned this into a bit of a saga, plus I thought that I'd make a couple of improvements to the design whilst it's dismantled. A properly mounted motor, replacing the gaffer tape/si...

Re: SP10 Tone Arm Fitting...
Did you ever mount a tonearm?
I just got my SP-10MKII back from being serviced and I was going to pull my SP-15 out of rotation and look into setting up a tonearm for the SP-10.
Thanks in advance.

DAMN! 7k for a restored 6n now a days, lathe cutting gear has officially peaked! Or maybe not... Anyways, best of luck on the sale. I bet it's a great machine It's important to remember that the lathes I sell are not basement find as-is lathes. Which is why I intentionally don't personally post pri...

Souri is closed for Covid. Only existing customers. Keep your eyes on the board here. And sometimes I've seen them on Reverb. But rarely.

Bummer that he's not in the states but maybe Jesus Agnew?
Would love to see how you end up making out, especially since I have a VR as well. Good luck!

Re: Polycarbonate Record Played on Gramophone (video link attached)
Very well done!
I tested out my Vinyl Recorder for a customer and cut her The Doors "People Are Strange" on a test record at 78rpm. It played and sounded good on her steel needle Victrola! (Could have used a little bit of EQ work but overall sounded very good)
Great job and thanks for sharing.
