Greasing the platter shaft
I've got a slight knocking that does not occur upon every rotation of the platter, but when it occurs it can be heard through playback. I pulled the ball bearing out of the shaft that the platter sits in and it looks ok, but I think my issue is that I need to add more lubrication. Do I use the same ...

I did not see a template with Myshank. Is there a best practice for designing center label graphics and printing onto the provided myshank labels?

Re: Presto K11 Platter locked up
Thanks for the help guys I just realized I never posted an update. After getting some more lubrication in there she fired up. Over time she seized up a couple times here or there early on but now that we've been operating the machine more regularly everything is smooth. We actually had our first boo...

Re: Presto K11 Platter locked up
It's the capstan is locked up and not turning when gear is engaged. Can hear humming from the motor. Gonna get some wd40 and spray in the top of the motor and manually turn her to loosen up. Put new oil in last night. If that doesn't work I'm going to open up the motor and clean the bearings.

Presto K11 Platter locked up
All of a sudden I went to switch into 33rpm mode and the platter locked up and won't spin. When I put it back into the free mode it spins but as soon as I engage a speed it locks up. I have yet to open her up. Any ideas?

Acetate Plates VS PVC Plates
So I've seen that a lot of folks who are cutting now use the PVC plates that you can get through MyShank. I see that the benefits of using the PVC plates are that you can buy them in bulk and that they are more consumer grade then acetate. It looks like in order to cut onto PVC plates you need a dia...

Re: Soniphone Records In House Small Batch Vinyl
Oh awesome! This looks very interesting James! I'm definitely going to be following what you're up to! I'm really surprised that there are not more options for purchasing a unit that does small batch cutting with there being such a healthy market in vinyl sales.

Soniphone Records In House Small Batch Vinyl
Hello my name is Johnny Lee Ledford and I own a small independent record label called Soniphone Records. I produce, engineer, and mix the records put out by my small label and utilize a combination of analog technologies such as a 1951 prototype webster-chicago reel to reel. What I really desire is ...
