Just getting my Neumann set up and I thought I was having lathe depth issues, glad to hear I'm not going crazy.. mine are MDC as well. Not glad to hear there are MDC surface problems when spending over 1k a box :x
You can always buy the alternative....oh wait ;)

Re: Bad lacquers quality

i had this long time ago when i switched from Apollo to MDC that it would cut more and more shallow to the inner diameter (usually only the lead out groove)...fixed it with a washer..never had this problem again...not sure if your problem is the same.

Re: Perfect Groove Software

Hi Andreas,

Does the software tell you the level it needs to be cut for it to fit on a side?

Cheers,

Re: Perfect Groove Software

People that run a vms80 dont need software to tell them how to set it up...(and neither do most of the vms70 users)...it might be a useful tool for mastering engineers that do not have a lathe to provide masters that are less problematic to cut.

Paypal can be very tricky for the seller....buyer can make a claim that it isnt working or not as advertised and youre in a world of shit. I never accept PayPal for large item...cash or bank...you can make pics of the machine with your(or his name on it on a piece of paper) so at least he knows its ...

Re: price pressing singles

It will be an expensive exercise to have 50-100 copies cut on dubs so best bet is pressing...contact a local pressing plant and see if they can help you. If you’re in EU i can help you in right direction. Chances are nobody will press under 100 copies though.

Well if the pops are random on all TPs you can rule out lacquer/ stamper issues...isn’t this the pressing plant’s problem?

Re: Leitz Microscope Light

Most of these have LEDs on the sides as well as the end. The LEDs on the sides go to waste and the LEDs at the end don't provide enough light. Such an LED needs to be "forward firing" with all LEDs on the end (none on the sides) but then diameter is too big to fit. Original bulb is open on the side...
