Re: Heat lamp

Yes I favour lamps with G4 halogen bulbs. They are small and kick out a nice bit of heat with the right reflector, cheap and easy to get hold of unlike your tungsten spots. Hi Henry, I don't suppose you have a link to those G4 halogen lamps you use do you? I've finally reached the end of my old sto...

Yeah I've always been of the same opinion mate; 1.5mm for 7", 2mm for everything else.

Re: AMI Continental 2 Jukebox Cuts

Damn!
It really is down to how the individual juke mech is calibrated.
Good idea to cut a test first though, instead of a whole batch which are unusable.

Re: AMI Continental 2 Jukebox Cuts

It all depends upon how well the jukebox mech is set up in my experience.
The vast majority operate without issues with 2mm thick records, but occasionally some have a tendency to jam.
All I'm saying is that I've never had a client's mech jam when I use 1.5mm blanks so I still recommend those.

Sorry for the delay in my reply Henry!
Yes, as PLD says, stick to 1.5mm thickness.

Re: AMI Continental 2 Jukebox Cuts

Hi Henry, When cutting jukebox records I try to extend the lead-in area a little to allow more tolerance for the jukebox mechanism set down position variations. The end lock groove position is the standard, but (again) I try not to cut the program too close to allow for badly adjusted end cut off sw...

Re: T-560 swarf problems

Try a test cut without any heat. So, neither disc lamp heating nor stylus heat.
Check that your cutting room's humidity is not too dry. If you're in the northern hemisphere, current Winter temperatures can play havoc with humidity levels.

Re: DIY vacuum plate

Looking forward to doing my own DIY vacuum platter, but the steps of taking apart the turntable to get the spindle and drilling it terrify me :| Agreed! Drilling the centre spindles of my precious SP-10 mkII turntables is something way too risky for me  Anyone in the UK have any experience doi...

Re: VR T560 mono/stereo problem

This probably won't solve your 'mono' problem, but I'd double check that you have the DIN cables from the head plugged in the correct way round.
It all depends on your set up of course, but they usually cross over.

hi, short question, do you know if the motor stays synced with the technics if you change the pitch at the turntable?
If you make adjustments to the Technics pitch slider, you should also make a similar change on the motor's fine speed control (the large silver knob )

Might be the mechanical 'linkage' rather than the coils themselves

Re: Potential cutter head problem?

And you should also state that you don't run the audio through Souri's main unit, so that cannot be the cause of the issue either.
