wait no.. why is the delay needed in the first place?.. I'm missing something here i think.. for variable pitch, changing LPI according to program levels. The pitch computer needs to know "in advance" what will happen in the next groove, so it will be able e.g. to increase pitch if there will be hi...

Don't make .jpg files! They're the MP3 of digital picture formats - very lossy compression! Better use .png or .gif, the result will be MUCH better!

Re: Specific cutting questions to the wilcox-gay recordio

2.[/b] I got this cutter fully restored from west-tech services, and it has a line in for digital audio files. What are some of the best options for equipment running into this feed in? I am thinking of just using my laptop, but maybe someone else has some ideas? depends on your laptop (my guess is...

sorry for going slightly off-topic.... Excuse me sir, didn't know you are an expert on my experiences. dang, I make that mistake often..... for sure I'm no real expert. I'll stay a novice of disk cutting for a long time..... You must have mis-understood.. I am talking about High Speed Dubbing...

too bad high speed disc recording is not possible atm.. if flo ever gets around to inventing a cutting head that can cut high levels with a frequency range of 0hz-125Khz.. that would at least enable cutting records at 78 or 156rpm for play back at 33 or 45rpm with no loss of the upper high end freq...

the "classifieds & tip offs" section would be more appropriate.

Maybe the section should be renamed, a lot of non- english speakers don't seem to get it.

Hey Mark On another thing From what I have seen the wax blocks are quite thick like 3-4 inches May be it was a requirement It would be hard to picture a Presto cutting such a thick block or any modern lathe that was ante wax There are a few Neumann AM31's that have been converted from wax to lacque...

Again - we can all speculate as much as we want to. Until comparison tests are actually run that we can actually hear it's all just talk that doesn't mean anything though. true - imagination, speculation, fantasy, that's human nature - and the reason why internet forums are so popular :D

This is not a knock on Flo's work or the Caruso whatsoever - I'm just trying to put this into perspective. Hi, a few points other than those already stated by mossboss crossed my mind, so I decided to share my (highly subjective) perspective. (I'm not saying the Caruso will be equal to a SX74!) Fin...

the feedback coils are out of phase of the drive coils. so phase cancellation kills the head resonances, sort of error correction, to make sure the head is outputting a more correct representation of the source material.. A little more nitpicking: Out of phase and phase shift are general terms that...

Gorgeous footage. One question boggles my mind though, when the records are on the toolex to be sleeved, how does the paper not tear when the wax falls down into it? Is there some kind of padded bottom holding the sleeve so the record doesn't tear it when it drops? I think there is, at 4:35 you can...

ebay technics 1100

looks rather massive, and the seller claims the SP10 was based on this.

Maybe someone can use this as a platter for a cutting system?
