If you still have the 110v motor leave it there.

Buy a 12v US caravan inverter - pure sine wave if you can afford it, run this from a 240v to 12v power supply at least 10amp and you will have the correct speed.

I have posted this before I got this running on a vms66 for a mate of mine 1 x 50amp 12v stable power supply - vms66 pulls about 35amps 1 x 1200 12v to 110v inverter from eBay USA with a pure sign wave Hook it up and you have a US lathe motor running at the right speed Do it in reverse to get an EU ...

He other reason may be the the grease in the motor has gone hard or there is no oil in the centre where the turntable slots - friction is an issue and I have had the same problem in the past.

Give the motor a clean and and other moving parts

I cannot believe that the cost of Diamond Cutting Stylus has not come down in price 250 euros. I suppose it depends where they are being manufactured and the quality. Is this the only supplier?
