I don't Know if this is useful in anyway, but when I bought my record lathe it came with some recording stylus as a gift, all in a box, The box reads: Capps reg, U.S. Pat. Off
I google it and took me to here

and If you look on google patents under his name it has a lot of patents about sound recording, record lathes and recording stylus.
