Japanese Portable Lathes of the 1970s

A spot for keeping track of especially cool (informative, fun) videos, photos, scans and other links about record cutting. (You can post them in other sections. Eventually they may end up here.) NOTE: Please put *Circuits, Schematics and Manuals* in the section with that name.

That's not actually a lathe in the cutting sense, it records onto a disk magnetically similar to tape - no actual cutting at all
and you have to have a special disk that I think can only be played back on this machine or a similar type you can't play the disk on a standard record player using a stylus.

Great sounding machine though - tube electronics and it has two heads one for playback and one for recording which you have to change depending on what you want to do and a separate eraser that wipes the disk when you want to record again!!

Yes, it's like a Brush "Mail-A-Voice" but with a pre-grooved disc ala the "Victor Home Recording" discs made of magnetic material. You just don't need the pre-grooved 'guide' disc that the Mail-A-Voice machine uses in this case.

Hey folks, I have a matsusho diskll FS it was working then the cutting arm stopped moving, any idea how to fix this problem? I hear the motors turning but it sounds like a gear came off track or something. Any help would be appreciated

Hi there!

I will soon receive a Disk Recorder oll AU70-17-C that seems the same machine as the Matsusho DiskII FS, but I can't find a user manual anywhere! Is there any troll who could please give me some directions on how to use It?

Also, I will need a female connector for this power input: https://preview.ibb.co/mELX1L/91-F99410-27-E7-4619-944-C-9837-FB7-F01-B3.jpg
Any idea on how to Google it (model name...)?

Best regards,
Fer

Depending where you are located you may need a transformer to match the power mains.

Hi Tony! I do have the transformer, I was asking only for the model of the two pin female connector I will need to match the power input in the pic, but I think I've found It: https://www.amazon.com/GX20-2-Aviation-Connector-aviation-connector/dp/B06XFCQCFK
