That is fantastic !
how the records are sounding with this beauty ?
Do you have a ref of a record we can buy cutted from this machine ?
thanks
Hey Nickou,
The machine is only a few months old. I have only cut one record for production and it's not out yet. It's by Wheatus. I'm not sure when the release date is. I don't anticipate the machine getting much use. It's there if anyone needs it! I'm building a very elaborate A/B path console and this is a companion piece to it.
Yes, I was at DigiRom. That was a long time ago. At least eight years.

i do 100% analog cutting
either at the ex-vinylium cutting room:
Studer A80 1/4 inch, neumann SP79 console, Vinylium ultracut amps, vms70 with SP02 and vinylium pitch98, SX74
at my cutting room:
Studer C37 (no preview) or MCI with preview heads, vinylium level controller, UA100 tube equalizers, 1178, neumann vms82 converted to laquer, vinylium ultracut, sx74 or SC99
at the moment i do at least 1 full analog production each month. not very busy but way better than 5 years ago. then it was once a year to cut full analog

I am on Flozkis camp of about a year ago but I been there for years
Vms 70 SX 74 B rack, with an SX74, SX45 the only one still functioning, as well as a Westrex and a Haeco plus a Fairchild 914 Never used it Real weird set up, so plenty of choice in heads, including an Sp 72 console with a stack of extra Neumann modules all used constantly which is fine
In so far tape! Weeeeell
Ampex 1/4 Two track, another full 24 track as well about 3 or 4 Revoxes including a Studer 1/4" deck
Tape decks above are fitted with preview heads but there is also a variety of other tape decks
Otari's Frostexe's Akai's etc valve and solid state from various eras
Around about 6 or 8 may be more including a Rola locally made valve tape deck, thats Australian, all gathering dust
The next time I will buy a boat I will save some money by forgoing the anchor and use all of the above tape decks for an anchor
What a waste of hard earned money
The analogue chain/tape dream has just and only stayed with me
Arhgh well so much for artists with an analogue bent
Cheers

Cutting from 100% analog from tape
Hi, you can also add me also to the list.
I have here a Studer A80 preview machine which came from Townhouse.
It is the one designed for the VMS 80, which is also here of course and some 100% analog transfers took place already.
With kind regards,
Lex
