Hey all
Since we have a list of confirmed Cutters as well as a list of Record Pressing shops I thought that it may be a good Idea to have a list of "Plating shops" who do perform this vital function So Contributions to this list are now Open

Record Technology, RTI does most of the audiophile product plating in the US.
They also press a bunch of it.

+1 for Mastercraft. they were recommended to me by George Horn for a 7-inch that he mastered for my label. super quick turnaround and the final product came out amazing (which i'm sure had a lot to do with Mr. Horn as well!)

Where is Galvimat located? Outside the US? I happily send most lacquers to Mastercraft since they are right across the river from me in New Jersey. Other than MC I am not aware of any other independent electroplating places in the US.

Yes, shipping lacquers overseas is not much of an option, especillay when you can get them plated locally within a day or so of cutting them. Fleetwood Mac would have their lacquers cut and shipped to the plating shop in refrigerated bags just so that there is no deformation of the lacquer.

Does anyone object to the possible inclusion of some of the information in this thread, in a tentative upcoming 2nd Edition of Larry Boden's "Basic Disc Mastering" book? (with a reference to this forum)

Also, will try to contact each business directly to ask, but if someone reads this first, let me know if you DON'T wish to be listed in the book, or if you have more detailed contact info for a resource, or if contact info has changed...

Thanks,
- Bob

No problem! Great idea.
How is Larry? I heard he was having a tough time in the 90s...there was a newspaper article about him that told of medical issues and he was working at a fast food joint. A shame! I knew him in the '80s. Great guy!

Hi Kevin - Replied in this thread first, then moved it over here, to not hijack the list of Platers:

What are the plating options in Europe nowadays?
Are there pressingplants open for plating orders, or too busy and dont want to help 'competing' plants?
I wonder if something pops up!
