To be clear. I'm looking for an SX68 or SX74 cutterhead. Broken. Top price of 3K USD. The head will be dismantled. I will document and post the entire process on the board. The head's parts will be cloned as exactly as possible given the original parts and all patent documents I've been collecting over the past few years. I think you all know what comes next. So, if you are interested in helping me fulfill my dream of knowing the art and science of cutterhead rebuilding and repair..... By all means, sell me your dead head! I think everyone knows me by now, knows how serious I take this, knows what I am capable of doing. Help a brother out.

I've seen broken SX heads going for that much in the past. I can't find anyone that will part with one even for 3K USD currently. Do you have one? Does anyone have one they want to sell for 1K? The answer: no.

Wish is one hand. Crap in the other. See which one piles up first. Sorry, just being realistic.

So, I wait and wait. One day, a head will come my way. And, then this work will commence.

I agree. Why would you want to spend so much money on something which doesn't even work? We all know the old Neumanns are good, but lets face it they're 40 years old and ageing. Surely its the role of enthusiastic engineers not just to repeat history but to create new machines using modern technology. This is why I believe the Caruso head will be better than an sx74! Even a Jaguar e-type couldn't keep up with a basic 2014 Toyota Camry. Out with the old and in with the new I say :)

Such things can only find in antique shops, flea markets, people do not even know what they have in the United States was most of these SX .. , So you can trafic, someone has it and can even purchase such for $ 50 because someone does not know what it is, etc, on the other hand it is always 100 times more
It Caruso is very interesting to me, sell it on ebay, what price?

I think you need to speak with Flo to purchase Caruso. He is the keeper of the cheese. http://vinylike.de/index.php/caruso/
Maybe you can buy me one too. I don't think he will ever sell one to me at this point. Ha ha.

so just read, but what is FB 30dB, what is the point of reference, a unit of Relative dB, 0 dB can be eg 0.7 V rms, it would mean that the feedback signal is 70 V RMS, it is not physically possible .... How much it means to Caruso, they are already CARUSO sell? If they only have one the art of being tested? Well, someone already has it? This Caruso? 2 k is cheap, but someone recorded, cut on VMS?

"resonance frequency: 1000 Hz. feedback: around 29-30 dB at main resonance (tested with 2.2uF // 4.7 ohm RC Network in series and carusopreamp V1.1)"

This is on the page. It is quite clear. It is specific to the preamp and r/c involved.
