1920's-30's Western Electric 16" turntable parts.
I have some very vintage, very rare W.E. lathe turntable parts for sale or trade.
These were acquired recently with a bunch of cutting equipment including an incomplete Presto MS16 which I'm currently restoring.
It originally belonged to the ABC [Australian Broadcasting Commission] Symphony orchestra. It was all labeled, packed and stored in cellophane and greaseproof paper sometime in the distant past and is surprisingly well preserved as a result.
It includes a 16" alloy platter and its matching bearing, a bronze or brass sleeve bearing and what looks like an illuminated microscope arm [which may or may not be part of it].
Sadly the rest of the machine went for scrap!
I'm not sure which model they were originally from, my research turned up a few likely candidates but was hoping an expert here might know and also advise of their value.
I'm after a Presto 6N overhead assembly and mono cutter head to get the Presto MS16 [pictured below] up and running. I also have a 6D overhead with an inside out leadscrew to trade.
Items are located in Tasmania, Australia.
