Book: Basic Disc Mastering, Now in 3rd Ed. (Boden)

Hi Emidisc,
(Love that handle by the way, bought a few Emidiscs of rare soul back in the 60s whilst attending the Soul Allnighters at the King Mojo in Sheffield and Twisted Wheel in Manchester and many, many, many others, too many to remember, into the 70s and beyond) The Basic Disc Mastering 2nd ed is a rare treat, basics are covered in the first 50 or so pages, it is however stuffed full of details within the Appendices, some trivial, some arcane, some redundant, but an all-together interestin' and fascinatin' read. Like you, I'm in the U.K. too and the book stands me at £58.48p delivered, which as of this mornings exchange rate makes it $90 ish. You can pay the duty upfront via Larry's Ebay listing so you won't get walloped again.(I Posted an updated listing to it, and Aussie updated the link on this page too) all I can say is I'd recommend the book even factoring in the extra postage and duty. Thank you for the response, I too have in the past purchased many a soul emidisc at soul nights and all-nighters all over the U.K..... Though from a slightly later period approx 1978 onwards!
Some of the best originating from a small studio in Carnforth, Lancashire?
The price of £58 for this book sounds good to me so I will look into it for sure

Yup used them fairly frequently too, Deroy or Delroy Sound Services I think they were called back when I resided in Lancashire. I lived in Blackpool but worked as an Electrical Test Engineer for G.E.C Traction over in Preston. Bought some real goodies in Lytham St Annes too whilst I was livin' in Blackpool, Chandlers -Your Love Makes Me Lonely on Colsoul, Empires, You're on Top Girl - Candi Demo 4 copies of Garland Green It Rained 40 Day & Nights/Girl I Love You and others too many to mention but believe me there was some really bostin' tunes amongst them. I picked up about 1600 tunes altogether from the wonderfully named Mr Moocher at his Emporium Moochers in St Annes and all for the princely sum of 4pence a pop. Happy Days Soulbear

I found this Book about 2 or 3 Years ago at a friends Record Store.( http://blackplastic.de )
He bought it out of interest for Vinyl/Records for himself and I told him that I have to have this Book
since Infos on cutting are difficult to find.
To make a long Story short:
This Book is Great!!!
Iam collecting Infos from the Net on cutting for Years, but this is a fantastic Compendium.
Get it as long as you can.
