WTB: Stereo Multi Cassette Duplicator
Hey,
I know its a bit off topic, but I thought I'd hit up all my resources. I'm looking to buy a high speed stereo cassette duplicator, preferably something that could to 3 copies at a time, and run at 16x speed. I'd like something like a Sony ccp-2300, which seems to go on average for about $200 on ebay, but don't seem to come up very often. If you have any leads, hit me up,
Thanks.

You could also consider Telex and Otari. I used to fix those things a million years ago. Not exactly high quality but they get the job done. The ones I saw were usually driven well past their maintenance schedule and most were in pretty bad shape when finally taken out of service. Watch for bad heads, belts, idlers, rollers, clutches, motors, fans, etc. No idea where to find parts anymore. I'd ask the seller to provide an original and a dupe sample for each position to hear the quality before you buy.
They have a cool factor because they're novel but excessive wow and flutter, frequency response and level issues that were common with those in-cassette dupers may not pass the smell test to a generation of listeners who have never heard those artifacts. Or maybe that's cool now. Who knows.

Bingo, Greg. There are factions of the hipster crowd clanging for cassette releases simply because of the possible deficiencies. The world truly does take all types.
Re: WTB: Stereo Multi Cassette Duplicator
I make tapes, and I've got an old Recordex duplicator I don't use.
Model 330 series II
it's a 1 to 3 copies, 16X duplicator
at the moment, there is an amount of pitch variation because of motor speed, its variant from one copy to the next.
I have had a great experience with the repair man at Recordex, I would shoot him a message to see what the repair might cost.
I'll sell you this one for $30, plus shipping.
PM or email me

Re: WTB: Stereo Multi Cassette Duplicator
Thanks for the input everyone. I ended up getting a Recordex Messenger stereo duplicator, with a 4 cassette expansion module. Excited to try it out!

Hello to everybody.
Compact cassettes become fashion again.
Heavy metal bands are using them frequently as 'demos'.
They prefer to issue their music to cassettes than in other format.
Cheers.

I do a fair amount of cassettes, along with my lathe cut work.
It's surprising, but some people are into it.
I think mostly because it's cheaper
