I hope you weren’t expecting a more elegant solution to cut 7 inch.
It’s not pretty, but it works perfectly.

Ok, now I need you to do a detailed tutorial on this mod. Did you print some parts? Happen to have STLs?

I’ve just found a spindle of high quality PETG and designed all the discs in blender, so I’ll be trying to get something down audio-wise on a 3D printed disc - I’m also happy to share those STLs if anyone wants to test out!

Do you think it’d be better to emboss or cut on a 3D printed disc? I’ve got the surface pretty immaculately sanded smooth at this point, but with all the tricks (lighter fluid, microwaving/heat gun on the disc, weight, emboss versus, etc)

There's enough detail in that video to figure it out.
I did not 3D print any parts to make it cut 7 inch.
It's all done from adapted stock parts.

As for 3D printed discs, I'm not the person to ask.
I've never used 3D printing, in fact, I'm just about to order some of MarkRob's upgrade parts to get printed.
Hopefully SLS works good for those parts, as I have no idea.

Additionally, I have made a discord server for the Gakken Lathe.
I figure it might be a good hangout for repetitive questions to be asked and modification guides, etc.
Keep this forum a less cluttered? https://discord.gg/xp7ZGBsJcx

I recorded with this a while ago and the test tracks were great, but I just got it out to do some records for the holidays and I can't seem to get it to record correctly. The volume and cutting seem fine, not too much noise, but there is a flutter/wobble that is ruining every track. It is bending the pitch so much that it is almost unrecognizable.

I've swapped the cutting needle and tested different volumes, tracks, and weights and I'm at a loss. Any thoughts so I can use this again?
