Hi to all,I've not messaged on here for awhile but browsed regular,I have a MSS direct to acetate recording machine,embosses well with polycarbonate blanks, buying some PVC blanks from MY SHANK,main question is about this diagram from Soulbear/kiss the groove about stylus heater,(I hope snapshot uploaded) would like to know the nichrome wire gauge to use,also is it just diamond stylus to cut PVC or can you use alternative styli, big thanks for any help, also nice thank to Soulbear & Ktg for schematics and update, regards Alan

Any new stylus you buy should already have heating wire attached. For cutting MyShank blanks your best bet is a diamond stylus. You can try sapphire but it will dull more quickly.

Hi rsimms3, good of you for replying, sorry late reply,I have some sapphire needle that have no wire attached,have today bought from myshank a stylus awaiting delivery,they say their wire is 5v/0,5a do you think this can be used on sapphire, regards plasticpig850
