when my 1200 gets here (which should be weds) i am going to modify it as per directed by vinyliums dubcutter with the resistor mod for more torque
ill let everyone know how that works out

the 1200 im getting is a mix match of parts its a 1978 base with a 2006 motor board and platter
i aim to start cutting for clients soon, my audio is good but torque has been an issue with warble

cheers

oh and if that does not work im going to buy a stanton st 150 oem super torque deck or try to find an sp10

i got my 1200 and after some custom resistor mods to the motor board i can now cut warble free audio on 10'' and 7'' havent tried 12'' but im skeptical but im happy to report that a heavy cutterhead with a modded 1200 will work for basic embossing

cheers

Hey Fred,

I did a resistor torque mod a while back on my SL 1200, and got better results at 45RPM but a speed oscillation at 33RPM. Do you have any issues with that?

Best Regards,

Wim

my 78 1200 has a 680k resistor at r209 so i had to improvise to get it near 100 i got it at 88k and that seems to be stable at 33 and 45

plus my magnet on the platter is brand new and the board was recapped

cheers

Hi!
I don't really like how it looks your DIY lathe but... What a SOUND!!!! I really like how it sounds your last sample file.
Keep it Up!

Do you use these cones?
