Hello all,

I am a DJ/producer and I am looking to get some of my tracks on to record to send out to record labels so just found this forum and I am very interested in it. If anyone can help me in my quest on a tight budget that would be great!

I am also a web designer / web hoster if anyone needs any help or advice!

thanks!

What is your budget? How many copies? What sort of quality is acceptable? You need to specify these things before anyone will seriously reply. You will be looking for a dub cutter. Also, did you want lacquer or plastic?

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. :D

Initially be looking for around 20 copies. That's just it I don't know about that, whatever is more cost effective but still a good sound so up for discussion.

length of play also determines price. how long? what size? 7" or 12"

price for a one off record can vary greatly depending on quality. so, poor quality could be $10 - $15. High quality stereo can cost you up to $60. Those are per disc prices.

if you were willing to pay $60 x 20 = $1200 then you should consider having a pressing done. About 200 x 12" records will cost you $1200.

If that is all that you need them for i would sugest that you save your money and find a dj who plays your style of music and give him a dub/mp3/cd depending on what his preferred deliery medium is.

Its definitely a reviving trend... Artists wanting to send their demos on vinyl to A&R men, labels and DJ's rather than CD. Only last week a guy contacted me to broker a run of 250 12"'s.
Back in 2003 I was the same, ironically it was you Jason who cut my first 12".
