a custom black wax cylinder recording for a collector in Melbourne, Australia. this song has never been recorded on an Edison cylinder and this is the only cylinder recording of this song in the world. this is the audio from a you tube video playing on my ipad, the ipad is plugged into the amp, and the amp into the audio driver for the recorder. this is a completely acoustic recording process, the recorder uses a polymer diaphragm with the cutting stylus glued directly to it. the stylus is a cupped tip sapphire rod .042" in diameter producing a vertical cut ( hill & dale ) recording. the machine is running at 120 rpm and can record 3:30 on a two minute recording blank.
