picked this up a few days ago, rare and VERY expensive, nearly $ 5,000 for this little machine, a machine that you will never see again. this is the HARDY tin foil demonstration phonograph. Edison made two prototypes and sent one to Paris to be copied for distribution in Europe. this is the VERY FIRST phonograph ever sold to the public. capable of recording approximately 20 seconds or about 60 words. this is being recorded on 1 mil aluminum foil...
