Ok, i finally built my own phono preamp with 2 op amps stated to have a THD of .008 which from what I can tell is ultra quiet. It is not required for embossing but for accurate playback so I have proper reference. I can send the schematic if needed for those that are "DIY" like me. God this lathe business is taking off and is grueling. (It was suggested that I post the schematic I used. Well here is the single mono channel that must be made twice for stereo): Image

This is one half of a phono playback system. You would need to me two of them for stereo playback.
