Hello people, finally after over two years of work ,my lathe is working and quasi finished; quasi because I am searching a decent stereo cutting head...

The motor is a dd-dj high-torque turntable new, not used.
I have simply removed all parts from turntable and adapt in my wood case, as you can see in the photos.
For a better stability of all system, I have do rebuilt a new spindle that go inserted in platter, and the too the part below the platter .
The result is that I have solved definitely the problem of wobbling, typical of dj turntable built today, because not precise.
Then ,the wonderful thing is the chance to change every speed from 10 to 50%, so I can cut too to 16 rpm, for example.
Don't exist vibrations and nothing flutters, then I can check too the strobe engraved on the platter ( only 33 rpm ).
Repeat, after two years of work, finally is working as I wanted. Now remain only a head to find.
About the lathe, it's a Poltz Freres, a very good machine for start, a semi-pro French brand of 1940-50 that worked with Pierre Clement.
With my lathe I can cut max.27 minutes for side to 33 rpm on a 12" disc. ( over 200 lpi )

Would you mind telling which model?

The other day I bought a vestax pdx2000 for parts. I dismounted the motor. Well in fact, platter + parts that links the spindle to the platter + bottom of the motor that holds the "tachometer system".

I've come to the conclusion that it is not a good start for a DIY project. Too many issues, platter not flat, link to the spindle not well thought, tachometer "metal sheet" a bit light and not isolated correctly from dust. I have to say that is probably a model from the first series (made in japan written at the back and motor from 2000). I think I still have some pictures if someone is interested.

I know that vestax has a bad reputation here (mainly due to the VRX2000 and I guess from tests that others members did) but I was wondering if the new pdx3000 motor could do the job. It can be controlled by MIDI so I'm rather interested in it.

Anyway looking at the bottom of your motor and your platter seemed nice to me, hence the curiosity

I had bought an Omnitronic dd-4750 new . The motor is a 3.5 kg/cm torque.
Unfortunately this model is discontinued , but the parts are there still here :
