Doug6N's Bengal cats and Presto 6N
These videos come courtesy of our man Doug6N. These are his Bengal cats ("roughly a cross between Asian Leopard Cat and Tabby house cat") and vintage Presto 6N record cutting lathe. Much wonderfulness!!!! The first two clips are my faves but I recommend just setting yourself up for a half hour of Bengal CatCam.

Re: Doug6N's Bengal cats and Presto 6N
This both delights me and makes me cringe. Something expensive is bound to get broken.
My cat is surprisingly chilled out about the vacuum pump running while a cut is going. Just this afternoon she came and sat meatloaf-style at my feet while I was cutting some sides. She's well-behaved though, she knows not to jump on anything on the north side of the room. (Bass amp, lathe, laser printer, turntable, computer.) I can't say the same for my feet at six in the morning. And I keep some compressed air at hand because every so often an airborne bit of cat fur fluff will come floating along and land on the record being cut.
I liked the story about the resident cat at Aardvark Mastering alerting them to a helium leak in the cutting room. I wonder how he detected it and brought it to their attention? Super squeaky meows?

As an addendum to this, can I state for the record (har har): re-winding used AWG29 onto a mandrel is a pain in the posterior when a cat is attacking the loose end of the wire.

Is Doug the guy who cut Ted Nugent's "Cat Scratch Fever" album?
