DGM/Opcode66/Todd - Forced Vacation

Currently I rent. My landlord is selling. I'm forced to move. I will be taking a forced vacation from cutting and working on my various projects for about a two to three month period as I look for a new place, pack my house, move, re-establish my house, etc.

I'll still be on the board actively. But, my ability to take orders or continue my projects will be put on hold for some time.

Not what I really wanted to spend my summer doing...

My sympathies, having spent several years in a succession of rental suites in wood-framed houses with clumsy, inconsiderate neighbours - random doors slamming, 6 a.m. dance parties or five-year-old children piledriving each other into the floor making the entire house shake; even living next to railroad tracks for awhile. I learned the train schedule quickly, but sometimes they were running early or late...

I hope you find a place with a good concrete floor, for a good price.

Just moving the home. Not the studio or cutting.

It is just going to take me offline for a while. Looking, packing, moving, settling in, getting the cats situated, etc.

Man! Good luck. That's what I did last summer, after 19 years in the same building. It was actually a great opportunity to connect with friends....make sure you get lots of help.

I managed to get three months of free rent from my landlord (thank goodness), and he got six of his workers to help with the final loadout day. I also used it as an excuse to toss 8 filing cabinet drawers worth of papers and a ton of books.

THIS book was a lifesaver: "Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui," by Karen Kingston. I'm not much for the woo-woo, but there's great common sense stuff here. I tend towards clutter, which makes moving especially hard for me.

Hang in there! And keep checking in here when you need breaks!! That's an order.

I'm back up and running. Taking orders. Cutting records. Having fun!

I also lowered my prices significantly. Have a look:
