I do use the S in my premastering studio logo.

Image

Only mine is there twice - forwards and backwards - so as to null the sibilance? Recently, I moved the letters, S, apart by several mil so that they wouldn't look like an overcut. Was not trying to symbolize grooves, at the time of its creation, but now, in light of the likelihood of there being more and more "cutting remarks," I decided that it should look the part, in every wise.

Also, for what it's worth, I find my American Optical old-timer specs way less metro-sexual than these Clark Kent characters wear:

http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3526465536/ch0000196

Mine are much closer in style to the one that George Reeves wore, back in 1952 or so - the tail end of the fixed pitch-only era:

Just read that Clark was meant to have chosen his specs based on those worn by Gregory Peck in "To Kill A Mockingbird."

There was a movie in the Seventies called, "Can I Do It 'Til I Need Glasses," but I think it was only about ogling. (Maybe mastering?) (';
