**NAME THE BLOG (poll/brainstorm)**

OK! So, as you know or should know, there is an underused blog on this site. You can find it by clicking the button above: "Blog."

It isn't very good. There are software limitations. I am going to scrap it and make it WordPress. There is going to be some sort of undemocratic process whereby some people will be unfairly allowed to make blog postings, in sort of a magazine format. But the idea is that the blog/magazine will bring glory to us all, even to those who don't post on it.

I want to Name The Blog. And then give it its own domain. It will have a subtitle, "The Blog [or Magazine] of the Secret Society of Lathe Trolls."

The blog is intended to have a slightly different audience: That is, lovers of vinyl, who want to buy some.... and/or those who want records made.

I bought domains connected to the titles "Pressing Matters" (specifically, pressingmattersblog.com) and "Platter Matters." I also bought a variation on the pretty clear but unclever "Making Records" (though two businesses have sites with similar names.) I am not committed to any of these. I don't want the title to include the words "Groove," "Groovy" or "Vinyl" if I can possibly avoid it, though maybe that's dumb.

If your suggestion gets chosen, you get a free year of banner advertising. If you are already using banners, we will figure something out. You also get a free egg cream from Gem Spa when you visit me in New York.

Brainstorm away. Here or by PM, though here is more fun (if a little dangerous, as leftover ideas might get snatched up).

First thing that pops into my mind, and unfortunately is a little non-vinyl specific, is "DISCCOURSE". Disc-discourse... :P

Maybe like:

"diskcourse"
"disccourse"
"disc-course"

Or something in and around there!

I wonder about the effect of the ordering of the selections on the poll.

Oh, people, contribute to this! I can't decide based on so little feedback.

Some options that were posted on my personal Facebook page. Some are puns that don't translate well (which is the only reason I can think of that "Pressing Matters" is doing so poorly in the poll.

On The Record
On The Records
Vinyl Destination
Vinyl Cut
The Vinyl Net
Vinyl Addict (there is a radio show with that name)
Vinyl Resting Place (there is a store with that name)
Waxing Poetic (jewelry site with that name)
Platter Puss (like, you know, Platypus)
Record Gnomes
Groove Gnomes

bump. I'm revisiting the idea of making a lathe trolls wordpress blog magazine site. Or maybe even more than one. Although there were amazing suggestions, I'm still trying to decide on the ones in the poll, because I bought 'em.
